Cool down after a fun-filled patriotic celebration with these layered Patriotic Smoothie Popsicles!
These refreshing red, white, and blue popsicles bring together the best parts of a fruit smoothie and a frozen summer treat. Made with blueberries, strawberries, yogurt, milk, and coconut milk, they are colorful, creamy, fruity, and perfect for warm-weather gatherings. The layered design gives each popsicle a festive patriotic look, making them a fun dessert for the 4th of July, Memorial Day, backyard cookouts, fireworks nights, or any summer celebration.

There is something especially satisfying about serving a dessert that looks festive but is still simple to make. These Patriotic Smoothie Popsicles are made from smoothie-style fruit blends, then frozen in layers to create a bright flag-inspired effect. The blueberry layer gives you the deep blue color, the coconut milk creates the white stripe, and the strawberry smoothie adds a bold red finish.
Hot summer days call for recipes that are cool, easy, and refreshing. Smoothies are always a favorite when the temperature climbs, but freezing them into popsicles makes them even more fun. They are also a great way to use up extra smoothie if you accidentally blend more than you need. Instead of wasting the leftovers, pour them into popsicle molds and turn them into a frozen dessert for later.
These popsicles are especially nice because they are not overly complicated. You only need a few ingredients, a blender, popsicle molds, and a little patience while each layer freezes. The freezing time is the longest part of the recipe, but the hands-on work is very simple. Once the layers are set, you have a beautiful frozen treat that feels special without requiring much effort.

The layered look was inspired by patriotic flag-style popsicles. While the design can be neat and defined when each layer is frozen completely, summer heat can make the colors soften quickly once the popsicles are unmolded. If the layers begin to run together a little, do not worry. They still taste wonderful, and the swirls of color can be just as pretty in their own way.
For the cleanest stripes, allow each layer to freeze well before adding the next one. The blueberry layer especially benefits from a longer freeze, so giving it about three hours is a good idea. The white coconut layer and red strawberry layer should also be added gently so the colors stay separate. A small funnel or careful pouring can help keep the layers tidy.
One of the best things about these patriotic smoothie popsicles is that they are enjoyable for both kids and adults. They feel like a treat, but they are made with real fruit and smoothie ingredients. You can sweeten each layer to taste if you prefer a sweeter popsicle, or leave the fruit and yogurt to provide most of the sweetness. Either way, they are a cooling dessert that fits right into a summer menu.
They are also easy to prepare ahead of time. Make them the day before your celebration, let them freeze overnight, and they will be ready when dessert time arrives. Serve them after a barbecue, pack them into a cooler for an outdoor gathering, or enjoy them while waiting for fireworks. They are colorful, fun, and exactly the kind of frozen dessert people reach for on a hot day.

If your first batch is not perfectly striped, that is completely fine. The important thing is to freeze each section long enough and to enjoy the process. The flavor is bright and creamy no matter how the colors settle. Once you have made them once, you can easily adjust the layer thickness, sweetness, and freezing time to get the look you like best.
These Patriotic Smoothie Popsicles are a cheerful, refreshing, and easy dessert for summer holidays. With fresh fruit flavor, creamy yogurt, and pretty red, white, and blue layers, they make a festive ending to any patriotic meal.

Strawberry Portion:
- 8 ounces frozen strawberries
- 4 ounces vanilla yogurt
- ½ cup milk

Add the blueberries, yogurt, milk, and sweetener, if using, to a blender. Puree until smooth. Pour about 1 inch of the blueberry mixture into each popsicle mold and freeze for at least 2 to 3 hours, or until firm.

If desired, stir sweetener into the coconut milk. Once the blueberry layer is frozen, carefully pour about ½ inch of coconut milk over it. Freeze for about 2 hours, or until set.
-
Add the strawberries, yogurt, milk, and sweetener, if using, to a blender. Puree until smooth. When the coconut layer is frozen, gently pour about ½ inch of the strawberry mixture into each mold.
-
Continue repeating the red, white, and blue layers until the popsicle molds are full. Freeze each layer for at least 2 hours before adding the next layer for the cleanest stripes.

When ready to serve, gently dip the outside of the popsicle mold into cold water, being careful not to let water get inside the molds. After 30 to 60 seconds, slowly slide the popsicles out and enjoy immediately.
