How to Make an Iced Sugar Cookie Latte at Home

An iced coffee inspired by the warm, buttery flavors of a sugar cookie — the perfect way to begin a festive morning.

When a seasonal iced latte with sugar cookie flavor hit the coffee shops, I wanted a quick, homemade version that captured those cozy holiday notes. This iced sugar cookie latte blends espresso (or strong coffee), almond milk, and a sweet syrup flavored with vanilla, almond, and a touch of butter extract to mimic that nostalgic cookie taste.

The homemade version comes together faster than a drive-through visit, costs less, and lets you control sweetness and strength. It’s easy to make in batches, so you can enjoy it throughout the season or serve it for guests when you want a simple festive treat.

Ingredients

All the ingredients to make an iced sugar cookie latte on a white background. Almond extract, light roast coffee beans, vanilla extract, clear butter extract, almond milk, christmas sprinkles, and white granulated sugar.

  • Espresso – Two shots of espresso work best. If you don’t have an espresso maker, substitute 1/3 cup of very strong brewed coffee.
  • Milk – Almond milk is used here for a light, nutty finish, but any milk or milk alternative you prefer will work.
  • Sugar – Granulated white sugar to make the sugar cookie syrup.
  • Butter extract – A small amount of clear butter extract adds that bakery-style cookie note without adding fat.
  • Almond extract – Use sparingly; it provides the characteristic hint of almond common in sugar-cookie-style flavors.
  • Vanilla extract – Real vanilla balances and rounds the syrup.
  • Sprinkles – Optional red, green, or white sprinkles for a festive finish; they add visual flair but not flavor.

Tips

  1. Topping the drink with whipped cream or a sweet cold foam enhances the cookie-like experience and looks festive with sprinkles.
  2. If you prefer convenience, you can substitute a store-bought sugar cookie or sugar-cookie-style syrup instead of making the homemade syrup — it still tastes great and saves time.
